VOCM'S 4 MOUNTAINS INVITATIONAL RIDE 22SEPT2012

The VOCM’s 4 Mountains  Invitational Ride was proposed by Jebat a few months back with the objectives of strengthening the brotherhood of bikers and also as a platform for the bikers especially the VOCM’s members to get to know each other. Well, the mission is simple, to conquer 4 mountains namely Berjaya Hills, Genting Highlands, Bukit Fraser & Cameron Highlands in a day. The invitation was posted on the VOCM’s fanpage at https://www.facebook.com/VersysOwnersClubMalaysia.

As i was not an endurance rider, i can’t make up my mind whether to follow the ride or not. To conquer 4 mountains in a day means that you have to either be fast, or you have to cut short on your stops. I don’t think the second option will work. Considering the facts that lately, i don’t like to speed and opt more on enjoying the sceneries and the ride, I was thinking on rejecting the ride. But, when Jebat called and persuade me the night before, i just couldn’t say no.

At about 0200 hrs it was raining heavily. If the rain does not stop, then the ride should be cancel, because it’s very dangerous to ride on slippery and wet roads. I don’t like riding in that condition, especially in a big group of bikes.

Luckily at 0645 hrs, the rain stops. I quickly put on my gear and move to the rendezvous point. Arrived there at 0715 hrs and nobody was there. Aikk! Did i miss the boat? So, check my scheduler and found out that the rendezvous time is at 0730 hrs. Maybe they are late because of the rain. So, hang out for sometimes, then Billie arrived, followed by others. There were 26 bikes who check-in at the rv point ie BHP Gombak. After a short briefing by PM Ayie especially on the strict regulations riding up the Berjaya Hills, we departed to our 1st destination, the Berjaya Hills aka Colmar Tropicale at 0845 hrs. 45 minutes late from our schedule.

Briefing by PM Ayie

We arrived at the security post at 0935 hrs and were escorted to the payment counter by Mr Nordin & Mr JR from the Berjaya Hills' Security Dept. From there we were escorted up till Colmar Tropicale. All the time riding up to the Berjaya Hills, we were not allowed to speed, not allowed to overtake, not allowed to make noise or disturb other road users. We gladly abide with the regulations. We were told that we were the second motorbike group which were given access to enter Berjaya Hills. Thank you. And hope that we are not the last group to be given the opportunity to ride up the Berjaya Hills.

Arrived at Colmar Tropicale and park our bikes at the designated area. We were greeted by the Berjaya's officials and were given opportunity to enter Colmar. Most of us did not want to miss taking pictures with the beautiful buildings as the background. So, did i, although this is not my 1st time here. Hehe..

From Colmar, we move to our 2nd destination that is Awana at Genting. Since it is a free ride once we reach the highway, everybody tries to test their bikes. Hehe.. Arrived in Awana, we were given a 15 minutes rest plus time to take photo but since a few of us are already hungry, we had to let them had their breakfast first.

From Awana, Genting Highlands, we proceed to Bukit Fraser via Batang Kali and Kuala Kubu Bharu. Stop at the dam for a photo and then continue to the slippery and cornering road up to Bukit Fraser.

We arrived at Bukit Fraser at noon. So, took some photos.

After a good lunch, we continued our journey to the last mountains i.e the Cameron Highlands. My plan to depart back to KL was cancelled when I was informed that the quickest way to go to KL is via Cameron Highlands. So, whether I like it or not, I have to ride to Cameron.

We arrived in Cameron around 6.00 pm and stop at the Cameron Valley Tea House to has some refreshment.

Alhamdulillah... all the riders arrived home safely. No unexpected incident happened during this ride. I guess all the riders were happy with the ride. As for me, I never imagine that I will completed the circle, but I'm glad I did it. It's such an interesting experience. Hope there will be more ride after this. Until then, lets on the bike & safe ride to all..
